Corn Disease Updates: Identification & Management

What were the corn diseases observed in 2020? What can we expect for 2021? An update on Tar Spot of Corn including life cycle and management and likely spread to NYS. Update will be offered on corn disease management including a new strategy for in-furrow application of Xyway® LFR fungicide for season-long leaf blight management.
Grass and Broadleaf Weed Control for Corn, Soybeans and Alfalfa -Gar Thomas & Kate Wheeler, Sr. Business Representative, BASF
This talk will cover trends in resistant weed development and trends in best resistant weed management practices by 1) employing overlapping residuals and 2) new non-selective herbicides in GMO soybeans. Primarily the largest use, Liberty in LLGT, E3 & XtendFlex soybeans.
An overview of 2021 launch of BASF's new & novel DMI fungicide in NY. Presentation will include products, rates, timing and efficacy.

Information on the Project:- Approximately 10 acres total needed to bale graze two different bale densities
- "Core" farms will graze two winters, "Demo" farms will graze one winter.
- Payments for both "Core" farms and "Demo" farms
- Baseline soil sampling by bale grazing team
- Forage measurements in early season by bale grazing team
- Late season clipping if residual not trampled down by farm
